By hi: can banks send fax for me for free?
i mean i have some bank application i did online and i have to mail or fax them to their main office. can i just go to my local bank im applying the checking account for, to fax my bank account application for free?

That is up to the bank. They are under ZERO obligation to do so, but might do it in the name of customer service. You are better off asking THEM.

It really depends. Banks don’t HAVE to charge a fee for this service but some do. It’s not something set in black or white. If you call them ahead of time they will probably tell you that they will fax free locally or charge if it’s long distance. Then when you go in they know you have already been advised of the fee and will expect it. What I would do is walk in to your bank. Ask them if they have a fax machine for customer’s use. If they mention a fee just tell them you weren’t prepared for that because you are a customer and don’t understand why they would charge their customers. They may just fax it anyway. I work in a bank and that is what I would do if you had approached me. I am not willing to anger a customer and potentially lose your business over something so trivial.
